Congressman Brendan F. Boyle was endorsed today for re-election by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) PAC, its Chair, Gregory Meeks, and House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries.

“I’m proud to join CBCPAC in endorsing my good friend and colleague, Brendan Boyle, for re-election to Pennsylvania’s 2nd District. As a lifelong Philadelphian, Brendan knows what it means to effectively advocate for the many diverse communities he represents,” said CBC member and Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8).

“Whether it’s standing up for union families, communities of color or anyone who needs a voice in Congress, Brendan has been there for his constituents. As we’ve fought to pass important legislation such as the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, Brendan has been one of our greatest champions. When we passed emergency legislation to support small business owners during COVID-19 shutdowns, including minority business owners in Philadelphia, Brendan was a leading force in getting it done,” said Chairman Jeffries.

“Brendan has been an important ally of mine, as well as many of my colleagues in the Congressional Black Caucus, and we need to send him back to Congress to keep fighting for not only Philadelphia families and communities, but for our entire Democratic agenda.”

“We need people in Congress who will fight every day for communities that need a louder voice in government. Brendan’s experience growing up in a working-class neighborhood in Philadelphia has heavily influenced his commitment to advocating for the families and communities he represents in Washington,” said CBCPAC Chairman Gregory Meeks (NY-5). “He knows the power of investing in education and promoting good, union, family sustaining jobs because these resources enabled his own family to make ends meet growing up. We need him back in Washington next term to continue to fight for Philadelphia with myself and my fellow CBC members,”

“I’m grateful for the endorsement and support of CBCPAC, its Chairman Greg Meeks and Congressman Hakeem Jeffries,” said Congressman Boyle. “Congressman Jeffries and Congressman Meeks have both been trusted partners in working to advance legislation to protect voting rights, addressing gun violence, investing in our communities, supporting public education, helping small businesses, and in making progress on everything from infrastructure to fighting against climate change.”

“I look forward to working with them both and my more than fifty other colleagues in the Congressional Black Caucus to continue fighting for Philadelphia families, and I’m grateful for the strong support of CBCPAC as our campaign heads into 2022.”

The Congressional Black Caucus is comprised of fifty-six members of Congress, and CBCPAC works to support black candidates, as well as non-black candidates who champion the needs and interests of the Black Community. CBCPAC also works to promote participation of Black Americans in the political process.
